Joe May, founder of tech company EIT 2.0, discusses his pioneering work in circuit and instrumentation design which has driven his company to become a leader in UV measurement. For ages 21+

Joe T. May is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Technology Officer for EIT 2.0, LLC, the company he founded in 1977. May, an electrical engineering graduate of Virginia Tech and a professional engineer, has an extensive background in circuit and instrumentation design. He holds 28 patents in areas ranging from measurement of gasoline octane rating to measurement of ultra-violet energy used in industrial applications.  More recently he has been granted two patents in the area of helicopter instrumentation and there are three more pending. May has authored and presented numerous technical papers and has participated in a number STEM programs at the high school and university level.

May served 20 years as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, where he chaired the Science and Technology Committee and the House Transportation Committee. He also chaired the Joint Commission on Technology and Science. In addition, May has written and presented sixteen biographies documenting the service and stories of young men from his home area who died in WWII.

This program is the first in a series with Loudoun Laurels, a group that highlights some of our county's amazing civic leaders.
