Hear about the 246 Years Project, an online database of historical records for enslaved Africans. This project is bringing to light thousands of untold stories.
For 246 years the life events of enslaved individuals were recorded in a variety of documents and survive today in multiple places. The 246 Years Project is assembling this fragmentary biographical data and organizing it within a searchable, online and free of charge database.
