Using film clips and behind-the-scenes stories from his documentary on the Cuban Missile Crisis, Emmy Award-winning producer and writer David C. Taylor provides a new perspective on the history.
Rarely have documentaries on the Cuban Missile Crisis involved trips to Murmansk, St Petersburg, and Moscow. Along with this research, David includes significant footage from the Soviet military archive to tell the story, as film crews were on the Soviet boats at the time.
He illustrates how an incident on board one of the Soviet boats, classified for thirty years, brought us to within 30 seconds of a thermo-nuclear war.
All four Captains and General Anatoli Gribkov from the Soviet High Command were interviewed for the film, along with the former U.S. Secretary of Defense, Robert McNamara.
