Learn about honeybees, beekeeping, and the basics needed to start your own colony with Apiarist Dan Barnes.

With 13 years of beekeeping experience, Dan Barnes has turned a passion for pollinators into a master craft. As a certified Apprentice currently working toward his Journeyman certification in the Virginia State Master Beekeeper Program, Barnes has experience managing up to 15 hives at a time. From the thrill of a swarm removal to the precision of hive splits and health treatments, he has seen it all. Whether you’re a total beginner or just bee-curious, join us for an introductory session and discover the buzz behind this exciting hobby!
