Live Music: Lulu's Fate

Meeting Room A + B + Meeting Room CThis trio performs a variety of music from the Appalachian, Southern string band, country blues, and gospel traditions, as well as original tunes. Their covers range from Hank Williams to Tom Waits.
Comprised of Tom Espinola on mandolin & guitar, Kristen Jones on cello and singer Kara Bolling, Lulu's Fate blends virtuosic instrumentals with lush three-part vocal harmonies to create new interpretations of traditional songs. They have been entertaining audiences since 2013 at venues including the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage, the Institute of Musical Traditions, the Takoma Park Folk Festival, the Washington Folk Festival, and the Calvert Marine Museum.
