Join a Certified Virginia Master Naturalist and a Virginia State Parks Master Hiker to learn practical strategies for protecting yourself and your family from ticks.

With new data on emerging tick species constantly appearing, 2026 is on track to be the worst tick year on record, making public awareness more critical than ever. From Lone Star Ticks and Blacklegged Ticks, Lyme Disease and lawn treatments, learn the most science-based and safe actions you can take to protect your home and family this season. Discover how to identify high-risk habitats, master proper tick-check techniques, and safely remove ticks if bitten. Protect your health this season so you can enjoy the autumn foliage with peace of mind!
