The music culture of D.C. took root with jazz and continued throughout the century to the sound of rhythm and blues. Home-grown musicians carried the sound to Motown and Philly, while pumping up the funk and soul through the '60s, '70s and beyond. From Duke Ellington to Marvin Gaye and from Roberta Flack to the Blackbyrds and Chuck Brown, with many highlights along the way, the music-train keeps on rolling.

Location: Old Ox Brewery, 44652 Guilford Drive, #114, Ashburn
