Art on Exhibit
Saturday, April 27
All day
View turned wood pieces donated to the Loudoun County Government by local artist Thomas Jewell. Stop by the lobby display case from March 1 through April 30.
Woodturning is a diverse medium taking a variety of forms from bowls and trays to pens and ornaments. In woodturning, a piece of wood is secured to a lathe which rotates while the woodworker uses tools such as chisels and gouges to shape and pattern the wood. Mr. Jewell’s collection of turned wood pieces offers a diverse view of the styles and possibilities in the medium.
