Historic Hunter Mill Road Corridor
Wednesday, August 14
7:00pm - 8:00pm
Cascades Library
Meeting Room AHistorian Jim Lewis offers a tour of this 280-year-old area between Oakton and Reston. Using period photos, he looks at remnant structures, military figures, colorful citizens and Civil War sites.
The Hunter Mill Road corridor is 7.2-miles long and remains a historical treasure trove. Incredibly, it maintains many of the characteristics that made it known by both sides of the American Civil War as the “main road” to and from the Fairfax Court House, Dranesville and leading to the great battles of Antietam and Gettysburg.
