Award-winning, internationally influenced author Monica Saigal discusses her inspirations and writings at the intersections of food and culture. Book signings and sales to follow.

Monica writes in a variety of genres and has written best-selling short story collections and love stories, as well as acclaimed memoirs and cookbooks. Eat Your Books chose Monica’s memoir, A Life of Spice as one of the top five food memoirs of 2015 and Top Chef’s Padma Lakshmi picked Monica’s Modern Spice as one of the “Best Books Ever” for Newsweek in 2009. Her novel, A Kiss in Kashmir was released in February 2024 and is available in bookstores now. Books in the LCPL collection include the short story collection The Devil in Us: Stories of Love, Life and Redemption, Kharma and the Art of Butter Chicken, and the classic food writing anthology Best Food Writing 2014.
