Overview of Home Food Preservation

Explore how to preserve food at home to reduce food waste. You will also discover the science behind food preservation, the methods used, and how to select which foods to preserve.

This is a hands-on workshop in which you will make and preserve apple butter to take home with you. For the first hour, anyone is able to attend. However, for the second hour, space is limited to 12 people, so please sign up by emailing Emily Jacobs at Emily.Jacobs@loudoun.gov or calling 571-627-6934

Virginia Cooperative Extension Loudoun will be at the Sterling Library on the third Tuesday of each month until November, with different food preservation classes and workshops.
