Discover the brown bears of Katmai National Park as they prepare for winter hibernation through crafts, a scavenger hunt, storytime, a livestreamed bear cam, and a fat bear candidate voting board.
Some of the largest brown bears live at Brooks River in Katmai National Park, Alaska. Brown bears get fat to survive, and Fat Bear Week is an annual tournament that celebrates their preparation for winter hibernation.
Activities will be ongoing throughout the week, including bear-related crafts, a bear scavenger hunt, teddy bear storytime, a livestreamed bear cam, and a fat bear candidate voting board!
