Retired Lt. Col. Robert Holcomb looks at the successful Israeli raid to rescue their hostages from the Ugandan airport in Entebbe. Holcomb examines the mission's planning, execution and aftermath.

Dr. Robert C. Holcomb is an adjunct staff member at the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) in Alexandria, VA. He retired from the Army in 1993 with the rank of lieutenant colonel after a distinguished 20-year career. He is the author of the book Stone Tapestry: A Visual and Historical Guide to the West Point Cemetery.

Dr. Holcomb will also present Operation Eagle Claw on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 7 p.m. at Rust Library. He will compare the two hostage rescue missions and highlight why one succeeded and the other failed.
