View paintings from the artist's collection, Cirque de la Lune.
This exhibit highlights the contrast between the artist's childhood excitement and enjoyment of the circus and the harsh realities of the abuse and cruelty faced by both people and animals involved in the show. Amid the smiling clowns, trapeze artists, and ladies riding elephants, you will also notice a tiger on the loose, a lion challenging its tamer, and elephants running away from the circus tents. Look closely, as there are many stories to be told. Thankfully, there have been changes and improvements in how these performers are treated.
