Learn how to navigate the local bus and Metro system. Meet at the library and ride on Loudoun County Transit to the Innovation Center Metro Station.
Get a hands-on experience designed specifically for older adults and individuals with disabilities who want to feel more confident using public transportation in Loudoun County. There is no cost to participate.
During this guided trip, you will learn how to:
Read bus schedules and identify the correct stop
Navigate a Metro station confidently
Use Metro fare machines
Understand Metro maps and station layouts
Plan future trips using bus and rail connections
We will not board the Metro during this session. Instead, we will focus on building comfort and confidence at the station while learning how the system works.
This is an excellent route to practice traveling to a Metro station. Once you know how to get to Metro, you open the door to traveling across Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, and beyond. We will also explain how transfers work and how rail systems connect, giving you the tools to travel independently.
If you are interested in joining us, we would love to have you! Please contact Karina Zavala at kzavala@datatrans.org to register for this event. Space is limited to up to 12 people.
