Discuss City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert.
In the summer of 1940, 19-year-old Vivian flunked out of Vassar College and was sent by her wealthy parents to New York City to live with her unconventional aunt, who owns a crumbling midtown theater. Naïve Vivian is introduced to an entire cosmos of charismatic characters for the new musical called City of Girls, including fun-chasing showgirls and the attractive leading man.
